EcoFlow Wheel-Well Cabinet Framing Kit

OurKaravan 80/20 Aluminum Cabinet Framing Kit for EcoFlow Power Kits

OurKaravan Logo

EcoFlow brought us the plug-and-play “EcoFlow Power Kit,” forever changing the future of van electrical systems.  Only one thing was missing–an easy-to-assemble aluminum cabinet kit made specifically for the EcoFlow Power Kits.  After testing an EcoFlow Power Kit for 2.5 months, we knew we had to design a cabinet based around this DIY’ers dream electrical system.  (Click here for our EcoFlow product review.)

We use 80/20-branded T-slot extruded aluminum profiles to create a strong and flexible foundation for the electrical cabinet in your van.  All aluminum profiles have been cut to size, milled for fasteners, and all hardware needed to assemble the cabinet are boxed and shipped to your door.  A simple schematic is included to aid in assembly of the kit, along with a link to a YouTube video that illustrates how to assemble the kit in a step-by-step fashion.

PURCHASING THIS CABINET

The cabinet is offered significantly below cost when bundled with the EcoFlow 5kW or 10kW Power Kits from CamperVan HQ.

What is a Cabinet Framing Kit?

The foundation of our kit includes strong and flexible 80/20 aluminum framing.  The cabinet frame and electrical components can easily be assembled in approximately 1-1/2 to 2 hours using a hex/allen wrench set.  EcoFlow components bolt to the cabinet frame using a combination of EcoFlow brackets and the included 80/20 hardware.

Vehicle Fitment

These wheel-well cabinet framing kits are built specifically for 144, 170 and 170EXT 2500 Sprinter vans.  (Transit and ProMaster test-fits coming soon.)  The OurKaravan cabinets are reversible to fit the driver or passenger sides.

The wheel well boxes are designed to attach into the van’s interior wall and the sub-floor.  The cabinet can be attached to L-track or Adventure Wagon kits with the supplied angle brackets (L-track studs required), or can be mounted to the van wall using 5/16″ carriage bolts or using the supplied angle brackets in combination with either rivnuts or plusnuts.  The kit can utilize the stock floor tie downs in most vans as well.

How do I Finish the Cabinet in Wood?

The two cabinet ends can be covered with 1/4-inch plywood.  Simply cut the plywood to fit the frame and bolt the wood to the frame via the threaded attachment points.  The cabinet kit includes upper and lower cabinet door track.  1/4-inch plywood can be fitted into the track to create smooth-operating sliding doors with no additional hardware required.  Finally, a countertop can be secured using angle brackets and wood screws or wood inserts.

The photo below shows the cabinet with 1/4-inch upper sliding doors installed.  The same can be done for the lower half of the cabinet.  The partial cabinet end cap was done for display only–in a finished van the end cap would cover the entire cabinet end.

Can you offer this in black 80/20? I’d like one for both sides.

    1. ourkaravan

Yes, it is available in black. Just know that the black anodizing is not as durable and can show scratches. Please reach-out to me using the contact form on this website and I will connect you directly with my vendor. While we are at it, do you want any dimensions changed? -Ken
